Be Sure

Be Sure

Are You Saved? Are you sure that if you die tonight, you will go to heaven? You need to make sure.

The Bible says:

“Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble” (2 Peter 1:10).

Don’t neglect salvation. Don’t harden your hearts:

“How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him” (Heb. 2:3).

While it is said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.” (Heb. 3:15).

Know your condition:

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23).

“There is none righteous, no, not one” (Rom. 3:10).

“But the Scripture has confined all under sin” (Gal. 3:22).

Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin” (John 8:34).

Know where you will end up if you are not saved:

“For the wages of sin is death…” (Rom. 6:23).

“But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death” (Rev. 21:8).

Your good works cannot save you:

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit” (Titus 3:5).

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Eph. 2:8-9).

“But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; we all fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. And there is no one who calls on Your name, who stirs himself up to take hold of You; for You have hidden Your face from us, and have consumed us because of our iniquities” (Isaiah 64:6-7).

Only Jesus can save you. Put your faith in Him today:

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

“He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1 John 5:12).

“And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son” (1 John 5:11).

“And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life” (1 John 5:20).

“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Rom. 10:9-10).

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Rom. 10:12-13).
